a kill file for people and words
perhaps my humour doesn't translate well into Danish ...

I'd second your second request, Graham.

Fixing bugs that cause data to be lost should be a no-brainer for
any software developer:

Ortherwise part of the user manual should read: "if you put your
data [here] and [this] happens, we will destroy your data for you."

Request number 2 has now moved up ... to Request 0 !

Graham, I understood alright :-) I just thought maybe they could
be very specific options, i.e. buttons in preferences: One labeled
"God", another "Christianity", "Evolution", "Graham", etc. :-)

Ok, I should have generalised it to a personal kill file of people
and words
Actually is there a way to hide yourself from others?
ie. automatically allow oneself to be added to someone's kill file
?
a stealth mode ...
Sixth Request - stalker mode

I'd like a mode that prevents you from accidentally posting a line
of reasoning with circular logic.

I'd second that too, Anton!

that would imply that Reichart would have to approve each posting
...
I'll second that as well :)

I didn't notice, but is it possible to make read-only groups? Such
as for interviews.

and I want special mode, which recognises, when I am drunk, as then
I tend to post radical opinions :-)

Well, they can make alco-meters for cars, why not AltME?

Pekr: you mean something when you turn on AltMe in morning and it
tells you: "at 2:00AM you wrote this (some rude post). Are you really
sure to post it?"
Pekr
26-Jan-2007
[2057]
yes, exactly :-)
Graham

[2058]
all it needs is some type of captcha test ...
Pekr

[2059]

Graham

or some stereogram - "tell us, what you see" - when you are drunk,
you will not be able to see anything :-)

otoh I think, that I could prevent most of my posts, if RT would
turned into R3 architecture something like 2001, so five years ago
.... it was clear to me such a design is needed, why not to RT and
their investors? :-)

When someone wants to start a rebolution ..they don't want advice
from others
Pekr

well, but was there any re(v)bolution?

Carl has realised his mistake .. better late than never!
it was revolutionary back then ...
now ... who knows
Pekr

yes, of course. I talked to one friend (who is not in rebol), and
from external entity pov it seems, that Rebol has no chance, as it
lost its momentum. It might be true a bit, as even if most parts
will be open-sourced, it will be interesting to look, if some new
coders join Rebol community ....
well, probably wrong channel ...

I'll third the second request, (which is now the "0"th) ... Don't
loose any data!!!
and related subrequests ...

- don't drop me out of whatever I'm reading / writing, just because
altme lost connection ... who cares? But I DO care, if suddenly the
unread markings are lost

- If I start typing a message in one channel, then go to a second,
clear the input field, and remember the message for the channel I
started typing it, so that I can send it later, when I go back to
that channel

- if I write a message, but don't have a connection, save it, and
ask me whether I stil want to send, when the connection comes back
(with a time threshold, send silently 5 minutes later, but not 5
days) ( Yes, this is debatable, what if I realize, that I _wanted_
to send this to a different channel?
Make the message field resizable (the one I'm just now typing in
...)
... and I want threading,
btw, on right clicking into a message I get the nice popup "Text
copied", but no text in the clipboard ,,,

.... hmm, it worked for me just now, but only once, all the next
clicks did not change anything ...
