The other question depends on who will accept our invitation to speak

I don't know how I will be regarding time/money in february but in

Kaj

[9]
Excellent, we'll put you on our stay-in-touch list

This sounds like a great idea! Be sure to record it for those of
us who can't make it.

We always film those conferences, but live transmissions are probably
not going to be possible

I'll probably be in Maui at that time... maybe me and Reichart can
say hello from skype.
Kaj

OK, but Skype will probably fall under "live transmissions". Internet
has been unreliable from that place
We have a Winter Syllable Conference there a month before, so we'll
try to keep a tap on it

Kaj, even NL isn't that big it would make sense to tell where it
will be held. :-)
And, it's a saturday so I think I could attand.
Kaj

[17]
That would be great. Would you be willing to present a talk, for
example I'm sure everybody is dying to know about R3 GUI development?
Robert
27-Sep-2010
[18]
Yes, I can do that. To give an overview what we plan, how things
are organized etc.

This is the first announcement to gauge interest. There will be a
full website later. For now, you can refer to earlier Syllable conferences
for information:

And if it's not to boring for people I could show the two commercial
apps we have done so far.
Kaj

[22x2]
Cool, I'll write you up
How much time do you need for that in total?
Robert

With some Q&A I thin 1:30h is OK. Or is this to long?
thin=think
Kaj
27-Sep-2010
[26]
No, that's OK. We'll just scale the conference to what people want
to put in :-)

How big is the audience? Decides about the style I use.
Are we talkig about a small group 20 people or a couple of hundred?
Kaj
27-Sep-2010
[29]
To be honest, we'll be very pleased if we reach 20. This is just
our first attempt at a REBOL conference
Robert
27-Sep-2010
[30]
:-) Ok, private presentation style.
Kaj

[31x3]
Yep. The bigger conferences we do have much broader topics, such
as Software Freedom Day and Document Freedom Day
Bas is also considering a Domain Specific Languages Day to get somewhere
inbetween
The Rascal author at Software Freedom Day responded well to my Boron
presentation

Kaj
12-Feb-2011
[37x2]
Yes, the church of REBOL :-)
Well, actually, the conference centre is built right next and connected
to the church building

I'm sorry for it too.
I was hit by time constraints I couldn't forsee and I'm not able
to schedule away.
GrahamC

[44]

apps?
Robert
12-Feb-2011
[45]
Kaj told me that they don't have Internet connections there...
GrahamC
12-Feb-2011
[46]
Not even 3G?
Kaj
12-Feb-2011
[47x2]
We're not sure we can arrange something, so we can't count on it
The other presentations will be filmed and made available afterwards
GrahamC

[49]
filmed?
Kaj
12-Feb-2011
[50]
Recorded on film, video taped. What do you call it?
GrahamC
12-Feb-2011
[51]
Videoed?
Kaj
12-Feb-2011
[52]
That sounds a bit awkward to me
GrahamC
12-Feb-2011
[53]
Dunno ... needs a new verb I guess
Andreas

GrahamC

[55]
people who take videos for weddings call themselves videographers
... so the verb would be videograp ?
