JaimeVargas 4-Mar-2005 [249] | We are deciding on making a press release a mentioning obsd and rebol |
Graham 4-Mar-2005 [250] | I can afford a $200 RASTA :) |
shadwolf 4-Mar-2005 [251x2] | :) |
sure and if you share your cable link with 10 people that paid you 10 $ a month then you will rentabilise your invest in 2 month ,)
JaimeVargas 4-Mar-2005 [253] | The $200 is not an access point it is a client device. |
Graham 4-Mar-2005 [254x2] | i'd have to pay more to get faster cable ... |
so, what do I need to rebroadcast my cable signal as radio ?
shadwolf 4-Mar-2005 [256x2] | graham you can turn to a provider ;) |
GRaham the basic card and a one to one config of the DHCP (oui server 192.168.0.1 and one client with no ip ;))
JaimeVargas 4-Mar-2005 [258] | A Rasta 2421-D or 2421-T. Maybe I should think about a single radio unit. So far in the market that I had sold it has not being requested. |
Graham 4-Mar-2005 [259] | And these cost a lot more?? |
JaimeVargas 4-Mar-2005 [260] | Yes those are the range of $1300 to $1500. |
Bo 4-Mar-2005 [261] | I am in the process of closing a deal with Jaime on the purchase of a D and a T Rasta unit. Looking forward to testing the units.... I was impressed with the Rasta Jaime allowed us to connect with at the hotel during the Rebol DevCon last year. |
Graham 4-Mar-2005 [262x2] | so, what does the small biz unit do then? I'm now quite confused |
Brian, would you use something else apart from 'difference ? this is an existing mezzanine function
BrianW 4-Mar-2005 [264] | drat. okay. |
Sunanda 4-Mar-2005 [265] | Nice tutorial Brian. One way to notice very fast if you are reusing words is to start a session with protect-system or add it to your user.r file. It can prevent stoopid coding errors -- like the time I wrote return: true rather than return true (that failed much later than you'd expect, and in a very strange way) |
BrianW 4-Mar-2005 [266] | Excellent tip, thanks you sunanda |
Graham 4-Mar-2005 [267] | Are you providing printable views ? |
BrianW 4-Mar-2005 [268] | no, not yet. It's definitely on the list though. Is that fairly straightforward with MakeDoc by any chance? |
Graham 4-Mar-2005 [269] | As it is, you have to print each page separately ... |
BrianW 4-Mar-2005 [270] | Yeah, that's been bugging me since day one. :-) |
Graham 4-Mar-2005 [271] | makedoc just gives you one very long page .. so that should be okay |
BrianW 4-Mar-2005 [272] | Hm. I don't really like having one very long page, though. |
Graham 4-Mar-2005 [273x2] | Chris has got some nice css style sheets to use as well |
but a printable view could link to a single page view ?
BrianW 4-Mar-2005 [275x2] | yes, that's true. |
Actually, the fact that 'difference was taken forced me to think of a better name. Much appreciated :-)
BrianW 7-Mar-2005 [277] | Great article. Kudos, eFishAnt & Gregg :-) Question - is this program intended to run against the official REBOL/View or a beta? |
Henrik 7-Mar-2005 [278] | ohh... it's done already? |
Tomc 7-Mar-2005 [279] | hmmm one of those spastic images on that site is crashing my firefox |
BrianW 7-Mar-2005 [280] | yay for flash |
Henrik 7-Mar-2005 [281x2] | I don't get a menu on top of the spreadsheet window |
hmm... the code for that menu is simply not present in the article :-)
eFishAnt 7-Mar-2005 [283x3] | there will be a download...not everything is up yet. The one-page, then a more complete one and the two spreadsheets will be in a downloadable archive. |
It will work on View 1.2.1.. but without the buttons, although it could be made to show the buttons with a bit more work, but runs on the alpha as well... http://www.efishantsea.com/nano-sheets.zip
Gregg did a lot of the work, he just was busy this past week so I finished the legwork on it.
Henrik 7-Mar-2005 [286] | work on it for a couple of more weeks and you'd have a spreadsheet that would be fully usable. this is so impressive. |
eFishAnt 7-Mar-2005 [287] | we intend to...;-). I stripped out some revolutionary features in spreadsheets soas not to tip off M$ |
BrianW 7-Mar-2005 [288] | heh |
eFishAnt 7-Mar-2005 [289x2] | Gregg did some Awesome stuff, like the simplest dialect for cells, shrinking by 50% what I had done...;-/ |
A1 [ $412.32 ] | |
Henrik 7-Mar-2005 [291] | go for a quantrix style spreadsheet |
eFishAnt 7-Mar-2005 [292] | how do you mean? |
Henrik 7-Mar-2005 [293x2] | very interesting way to make spreadsheets. hard to explain, but involves column and row naming and grouping |
the Quantrix Modeler is one of those tools that lift productivty to a new level and is ignored by the public. just like rebol :-(
eFishAnt 7-Mar-2005 [295x2] | I did some things that support something similar which I stripped out...but that's not all...;-) |
Gregg did the macro language very clever so it builds everything dynamically. Spins the most colorful propellers.
Henrik 7-Mar-2005 [297] | http://www.quantrix.com/r-info-2-1<--- requires flash but very nice to watch |
eFishAnt 7-Mar-2005 [298] | flash is for voyeurs? |
