What exactly is rebolcentral? A regular hosted account? Or do you
have shell access and can run daemons etc?
Reichart

Right now it is a name.
Sqlab, I did not follow your point, or question perhaps...

JesusWalksOnWater.com does not sound like a name for a central rebol
repository.
Maybe I do not get the joke.

I think RebolCentral is a great domain name to point to a centrally
hosted open source repository

So we speak about different names/pages.

Anton, there is no content on rebolcentral.org ... so Reichart just
forwards it to jesuswalks as a joke.

bad joke

Nothing new or original. Not a joke either - he uses the link for
defamation.

I agree, bad joke. As whole book where this bad joke comes from.

Graham, not a joke, simply a process. To call it a joke implies
forethought
Graham, not a joke. It is simply grouped by process. A joke would
imply there was forethought, then it could be a good or bad joke.
Since it is not a joke in the first place, it can't be good, or
bad.

But, sure am glad that the real question on the table, the name itself,
is being skipped here...would hate for anyone to actually address
something of substance, but hey, look a shiny object LOL

I think it's a bad joke. The setting is not bad, people don't usualy
walk on water, but then what? Does he catch some fish with bare hands?
Or is there someone passing by, telling him "you can't walk on water"
and after he realizes that, he sinks down? No, nothing. There's no
punch line. Sorry, bad joke.

The bright side is the Lord (the one that walks on water) will be
saving Reichart some day.
Reichart

[3206]
But the "real" question is, are going to save REBOLCentral.org?
[unknown: 5]

[3207]
You mean you didn't get enough donations form the site button? LOL.
Reichart

[3208]
This is not about money, but about "group effort".

Let it lapse. If we decide we need it again, we can pick it up. If
someone else picks it up, we'll use another name.

Several people have now posted to me privately that they would like
to do something with it, which is cool, I will keep it for them...

do you own the Jesuswalksonwater domain? And if so, do you use the
donations to fund rebol development? :)
Reichart
6-Feb-2009
[3212]
I do own JWOW, I do not use the donation for REBOL development, the
only connection they have is we route all domains to one place.
Graham
6-Feb-2009
[3213]
So, you use the money to fund the Christian Jihad ?
Reichart

[3214]
Would you like to take this to BS?
Pekr
6-Feb-2009
[3215]
My take on rebolcentral.org - it is not a joke, but a blatant nonsense.
I own rebol.cz for the same purpose, but in the meantime I am forwarding
it to rebolweek at least.
Reichart
6-Feb-2009
[3216]
Pekr, you have such a way with words...
Pekr

[3217]
I am aware what I said and with what attitude. I am used to be direct
and stright, and I know that some ppl might have problem with my
behavior. I got to such "state" with the work overload, which is
not good, I know. But the less time I have, the faster I need to
make my decisions, not having time for BS. So - your REBOL related
domain redirection is really a bad move, no matter what. I do remember,
how Amiga Inc. tried to protect their TM, so I wonder what would
Carl say to above mentioned link. As a joke - OK, but other than
that, I would not do it myself, from various reasons. And that is
what I expect from others ...
Reichart
6-Feb-2009
[3218]
Pekr, don't defend yourself, you are simply one of those people that
justifies abhorrent behavior,

And, of course we disagree, the more sites that refer to REBOL, and
the more sites that can be used to direct people the better.

And AGAIN, this has nothing to do with the link redirector, but rather
the link itself. And this has nothing to do with asking "daddy"
his thoughts, it has to do with the link itself, it has nothing to
do with some grand scheme. You seem to "often" miss the issue on
the table, and get sidetracked by some shiny object.
[unknown: 5]
6-Feb-2009
[3219]
Well it seems that a lot of you have a problem with the use of
rebolcentral.org. It only puts a disdain on REBOL, and I'm surprise
that Carl would even favor the use of the name REBOL in such a manner
even if he were an athiest.
Pekr
6-Feb-2009
[3220x2]
Ah, often, right? I gave you an example - if you want to be usefull,
you could as well point that domain to sites like rebol.org or rebolweek,
so you defense of your motives does not work either. Besides that,
then also other ppl here expressing the weirdness of linking of rebolcentral.org
to JWOW are sidetracted, right ...
Paul - exactly ...

[3222]
...It is like when you buy a gift for a 3 year old, and they want
to play with the box...
[unknown: 5]
6-Feb-2009
[3223x3]
What does that mean? LOL.
Reichart, does Carl even know about REBOLCentral.org?
Maybe we should really get Carl's input on this issue and see what
he recommends is done with it.
Reichart
6-Feb-2009
[3226]
what does that mean
(please someone explain this to him)
[unknown: 5]
6-Feb-2009
[3227]
anyone....
Pekr
6-Feb-2009
[3228]
Reichart - and as for abbhorent behaviour. Interesting thing is,
that ppl I work with, are never facing anything abhorrent. Some ppl
(is it US specific?) are not used to "pressure" or how to call it.
E.g. we are here in CZ used to look into one's eyes, ask private
questions, whereas I believe in US it would not be appropriate, because
you enter someone's "private zone". When few of us from CZ were at
yoga training camp, we asked them some questions, and they felt offended,
that we don't have right to ask for anything which could be regarded
being a private matter. It took some time for them to understand
it. One manager which taught me once told me - you can be harsh,
you can fight - but don't fight ppl, fight arguments. And when I
said that I regard something a blatant lie, it has nothing to do
with you personally ...
[unknown: 5]
6-Feb-2009
[3229]
Reichart, can you answer my question as to what Carl thinks of your
use of REBOLCentral.org?
Pekr
6-Feb-2009
[3230]
I start to feel Reichart, that you actually has to be "always right"
:-)
[unknown: 5]
6-Feb-2009
[3231x2]
Maybe, I can drop him a private question via RebDev and ask?
Pekr, it isn't just you.... ;-)
Pekr
6-Feb-2009
[3233]
Paul - what Reichart probably meant by " ... 3 year old" is, that
in fact it is not a big deal, and we are jumping onto something,
which does not deserve such reactions ....
Reichart
6-Feb-2009
[3234]
Pekr, again........................we are not talking about the same
thing (yeha, I have no problem with what you are describing here,
this has nothing to do with what I've written above).

Paul, I could care less what Carl thinks, but please, go discuss
it with him, not me.
[unknown: 5]
6-Feb-2009
[3235]
Ahh, I see Pekr, thanks.
Reichart
6-Feb-2009
[3236]
Saldly pekr.........NO, that is not what I meant....someone else
has to help here...you guys are like Twittle Dee and Twittler Dumb...
[unknown: 5]
6-Feb-2009
[3237x2]
You can care less what Carl thinks? - pretty strong words Reichart.
Yes, Reichart, we don't know everything like you do.
Reichart
6-Feb-2009
[3239]
Oh sorry Paul, I know Carl is your second messiah, but, this convo
is simply stunning...
[unknown: 5]
6-Feb-2009
[3240]
Reichart, if someone puts REBOL and Central into Google - your blasphemous
site comes up second in the list. Your hurting the spread of REBOL.
