We've seen this before. Usually it suddenly stops if Carl reboots 
the server or if the network reasserts itself. In the meantime we'll 
have to live with it for the 1-2 days it usually lasts.

its real bad this time...and a little different than previous slowdowns..

less 'internet busy' and more just real slow and no updates of worlds 
until clicked on.

It's totally stable here now.

It's been like this intermittently for the last couple of days ...

Would be cool if this message window also had a console like feature 
where I could use it to do some functions like a calculator or other 
limited functionality.

has there been a silent upgrade to AltMe lately? since a week or 
two, when opening AltMe, its window will resize fullscreen and no 
way to resize it, it will keep resizing fullscreen.. OSX10.6.2 AltMe 
1.2.17

This is an old bug. Can't remember how to fix it, though...

Group !Rebol3 is not visible for me (dissappeared) anybody else?

found it.. in prefs/window , change:
	maxed: true
to:
	maxed: none

I just deleted the prefs/window and all is well

Pavel: I see it, but it's empty.

ok, that is a AltMe bug on OSX, when clicking the green button in 
the window title bar to max the window, prefs/window/maxed get set 
to true, clicking again won't update that variable.

Pavel -- there's been some difficulties with some groups. Reichart 
is looking in to it.

I forgot to post this. Yesterday, I got the following error message 
when disconnecting from this world:

  Server reported error in unknown-request because of: Ýtatus

Yes, that first char in the last word is what it displayed.

AltME updated to 1.2.18 .... you can now eg. set filesize transfer 
limit. Changelog states, AltME is going to be updated regularly now 
again. Maybe time to submit the most usefull proposal - add button 
to "mark everything read" (de-red button :-)

1.2.18 works fine from where I am. Let's hope it is a good sign for 
the future.

Rebol3 now has its own dedicated server on linode .. but still seems 
slow :(

that busy signal appears briefly and then blocks

its been more responsive for me in genera.... but  the world has 
disconnected a few times since its on the linode server.

Seems a lot more response here (California) too.  16 hops.

Whoa... this traceroute backbone hostname freaked me out for a sec:

(In console font 1 and l look the same.)

AltME updated.... When you send a message, you will see the edit 
window retain the message until the server has echoed it.

now we need the most requested feature - one small button for "Mark 
everything read" :-)

A welcome update for sure.

let's type something here and now click on a group .... and this 
area goes black .. very unusual feature

 could be done a bit differently maybe, via a setting. E.g. "Mark 
 as read messages older than (days)" ... defaulting to let's say 3 
 days ... so that you would be able to see some recent discussions 
 still marked red .... just an idea ...

Graham -- This is what it looks like to me:

-- if you press send and a stay in the group you are in: the entry 
area goes grey until receipt of the message is confirmed; then it 
returns to your default colours

-- if you press send and navigate elsewhere quickly: it stays black 
until you send again (and stay in the same group)

I get error windows when AltME is idle now.

I can see the black area even if you change groups, and also when 
I clicked http link ...

The area seems to turn black if the area loses focus.

Got a message Altme need a new version, downloading, dowload failed. 
with Altme intel osx, running the old PPC version works ok

Pekr: I could use that feature too. Where would the button be put, 
in the divider options panel perhaps?

Will: what download failed? On auto update or exe?

Terry: can you explain "duplicated itself"? Do you mean it was sent 
twice?
