Graham 11-Jan-2006 [3875x3] | in the list definition ? |
ok. | |
better, but the headers now cross over the scroller. http://www.compkarori.com/reb/pluginchat21.r
Henrik 11-Jan-2006 [3878x2] | hang on... my connection is very bad right now |

Louis 11-Jan-2006 [3884x2] | I have a large view script that work fine with the previous verison of view, but that gives the following error witht he new version of view: Misplaced item: "imanXw" Misplaced item: "Quit" Misplaced item: [ (write %session-time.txt (session-time + (either now/time >= time-start [session-seconds: now/time - time-start] [se ssion-seconds: ((now/time + 24:00) - time-start)]))) quit ] |
Any idea why? | |
Graham 11-Jan-2006 [3886x2] | http://www.compkarori.com/reb/pluginchat23.r which has support for RMB on the users .. but a visual glitch in the scrollers. Doesn't work under plugin. |
So, the plugin page http://compkarori.com/reb/uses an older version.
JaimeVargas 11-Jan-2006 [3888] | Graham, No sound support in OSX view/beta so the newer version doesn't run here :-/ |
Graham 11-Jan-2006 [3889x5] | hmm. |
but at least it shouldn't crash ??
Or , I guess it might when doing the setup business.
I need to fix that. | |
http://www.compkarori.com/reb/pluginchat24.r I just put an attempt around the sound initialisation stuff.
Graham 12-Jan-2006 [3894x2] | Well, I got the new plugin working with AGG. |
See http://www.compkarori.com/reb/for instructions.
Pekr 12-Jan-2006 [3896x2] | website is still referring to 1.2.47 though, even after reload ... |
maybe you need also to change class-id in website source?
Graham 12-Jan-2006 [3898x2] | well, i think RT have to release a signed version .. but as carl says, it's difficult. |
This way I at least can manually upgrade my own client plugin to AGG.
Pekr 12-Jan-2006 [3900x2] | ah, sorry, got it ... |
you should update your instructions - you are not able to rewrite the file, unless you end your IE ... it keeps old view.dll locked ...
Terry 12-Jan-2006 [3902] | AGG, and no ASYNC? |
Pekr 12-Jan-2006 [3903] | I would forget MS IE version and concentrate on NS plug-in plus wrapper for IE ... |
Terry 12-Jan-2006 [3904] | Yeah, forget 90% of all browsers, and go for <10%. |
Graham 12-Jan-2006 [3905] | I'm sure most people will work it out that they have to close down IE to save the file. |
Pekr 12-Jan-2006 [3906x3] | well, even if IE is used by 85% PCs on average, plugin can be used by some 60 or so percent, who are lucky not being behind proxy. Rebol proxy support detection sucks big time ... |
Terry - you don't know what you aret talking about, so I will forgive you :-)
just go and read plug-in chat from yesterday, you will understand :-)
Graham 12-Jan-2006 [3909] | Ok, I've updated the instructions. |
Terry 12-Jan-2006 [3910x3] | can't find the download programs folder? is that the actual name in XP? |
Pekr, I use Firefox almost exclusively.
almost.. | |
Pekr 12-Jan-2006 [3913] | MS, prior to IE 5.5, used exactly the same! NS plugins. Then those morons had to change it, to cut it off of course. you can probably still find plugin.ocx somewhere on your system ..... Mozilla foundation offers you to use their plugin system, which will work in MOST other browsers, including Opera. So you just need to use their wrapper dll to get it working in IE once again - that is why I see no point in developing IE plug-in separately ... |
Terry 12-Jan-2006 [3914x2] | Opera is toast. |
like Blockbuster (if you live in N. America)
Pekr 12-Jan-2006 [3916x2] | I surely don't want to leave IE unsupported, that would be insane, as IE still has more than 80%. Of course, we first need to check, if the wrapper library works seamlessly ... |
why? Opera is rather popular here, it conforms to standards good enough, it is now adds free also. and don't forget - it is used on many mobile devices ....
Terry 12-Jan-2006 [3918] | Either way, I think the plugin is Rebol's only chance.. as the world moves more and more towards Web 2.0, Rebol's only hope, and opportunity, is to build widgets. |
