Steeve 6-Dec-2008 [8701x4] | i really wonder why it's needed to modify R3 to support the devlopment of the BBS |
should be a standard app
with standards functions
except if R3 is soo buggous that nothing can work without patch it
Oldes 6-Dec-2008 [8705] | Cyphre is not working on R3. He is working on Qtask. I don't know what exactly.. it was a joke a little bit. It has nothing to do with Carl and any BBS |
Reichart 6-Dec-2008 [8706] | Oldes, not true... |
Oldes 6-Dec-2008 [8707] | So he already has the R3 task? Fine. |
Reichart 6-Dec-2008 [8708x2] | Yes, in fact he does |
And... https://www.qtask.com/files.cgi/ForREBOL3?tab=get&uuid=EXBGS47FCJ7A291SVTW9WDTTD1QT&filename=For REBOL3
Steeve 6-Dec-2008 [8710] | Reichart, are you the big guy ? |
Oldes 6-Dec-2008 [8711x2] | Yes, but Cyphre is bigger:) |
Reichard...it's by design, that you must download the image to see it, or it is bug in Qtask? :)
Steeve 6-Dec-2008 [8713x5] | perhaps this is the other which are hobits |
Brian looks crazy | |
ahah | |
you are young in fact, i thought some of you were older
btw, do we have some girls in this altme world ?
Graham 6-Dec-2008 [8718x2] | I thought you were a girl! Steeve is a girls name :) |
You can start an Ada chat channel if you like.
Steeve 6-Dec-2008 [8720] | what !!!! |
Graham 6-Dec-2008 [8721] | Stevie is short for stephanie ... http://www.nicksfix.com/ |
Steeve 6-Dec-2008 [8722] | i have this forname (even if it's not a french one) cause my father was a huge fan of Steve Mac Queen |
Graham 6-Dec-2008 [8723x2] | Oh ... why the double ee?? |
Italiano, they use lle to feminize ??
Steeve 6-Dec-2008 [8725x2] | because like me, my father didn't handle very well this langage |
i don't know why in fact | |
Graham 6-Dec-2008 [8727] | Oh well, you can see how we can get confused. |
Steeve 6-Dec-2008 [8728x2] | in french i'ts delivered: st-ee-v |
st-e-v, instead | |
Graham 6-Dec-2008 [8730] | I think Reichart needs to add the ability to play back wav files attached to a nick :) |
PeterWood 6-Dec-2008 [8731] | Oldes: "But the unicode in gui must be, else the changes in core were useless." I think the Core changes would still be useful for server-side apps. |
Reichart 7-Dec-2008 [8732x3] | Richard is 185cm, I'm 187cm, so, having checked, I'm tallker (and bigger). I'm 100 kg. |
By design that we make you download it. It is being treated as a file.
taller | |
Rebolek 7-Dec-2008 [8735] | Richard was standing bit in front, that's the reason why he appears to be bigger than Reichart :) |
Henrik 7-Dec-2008 [8736] | Graham, in case you missed it: The BBS gave a good range of bugs to fix. It was probably built in half a day. The rest of the time was (and still is) spent fixing bugs in the core and my skin. We are not "wasting time". |
Claude 7-Dec-2008 [8737x2] | i would like to know how to become an alpha tester ? |
of rebol3 | |
Pekr 7-Dec-2008 [8739] | Claude - there was some public alpha release of R3 in January. We are trying to convince Carl to release next alpha in some near future, but I am not sure how it turns out. |
Henrik 7-Dec-2008 [8740] | Pekr, checked your mail? :-) |
Graham 7-Dec-2008 [8741x2] | First alpha release in January, and we're now in December, and writing a simple app exposes major bugs in core/vid .... it's really all quite tragic. |
The sparse release strategy is flawed.
Pekr 7-Dec-2008 [8743x2] | Mail? Not yet, just private message on r3-alpha ... sometimes some ppl do fatal mistakes :-) |
Graham - OSNews contains link to Perl6 - it is in development 8 years, so we are not slowest at least :-)
Graham 7-Dec-2008 [8745x3] | The mantra of iterative development is release early and often. Frequent, tangible, working releases are at the heart of the iterative approach. |
The iterative approach allows frequent feedback .. to mold development.
Evolution is the result of forces acting on systems ... if there is no feedback, or the environment is not rich enough .. then development occurs much more slowly.
Pekr 7-Dec-2008 [8748] | I suggested to Carl to consider KDE 4 aproach. It was in development few years, and it seeemed like there is no end to this. So the team decided to cut some features for 4.1 and later, mark recent state as 4.0, and release it. They were criticised, but I do understand their motives. Those are mainly psychological - release, and never look back. Use current one. Are there bugs? OK, let's fix them, and go ahead ... |
Graham 7-Dec-2008 [8749x2] | yep |
should have started with core ...
