Will 12-May-2007 [508] | have read on rebol.org they have error with garbage collection every 150'000 cgi requests, may be related? |
btiffin 12-May-2007 [509] | Could be. Yep. It is guru time. Keep posting. Try the Mailing List too. |
Will 12-May-2007 [510] | thak you brian for the help 8-) time to go sleep here 6AM.. have a great day! |
btiffin 12-May-2007 [511] | You too. |
Will 12-May-2007 [512] | thanks 8-) |
Dockimbel 13-May-2007 [513x4] | Looking again on the file handles exhaustion issue with a fresh eye, I found a case in the universe engine where file handles may not be released to the system. I'll make some test today about that and if the results are positive, I'll post a fix here for uni-engine.r |
universe => uniserve | |
What I found strange is that softinnov.org is running on uniserve for months, serving millions of files without such issue. guess that our Linux server has some higher max file handles limit than OSX.
Patch sent to Will. I'll wait for his feedback before make it public.
Graham 24-May-2007 [517] | No feedback? |
Will 24-May-2007 [518] | we're working on it |
Graham 26-May-2007 [519] | sessions update? |
Dockimbel 26-May-2007 [520] | Graham, yes sessions are working ok now. I'm planning to make several releases this weekend, including a beta version of the new Cheyenne/RSP engine. |
Maarten 26-May-2007 [521] | As in "official" via the website? |
Dockimbel 26-May-2007 [522] | Right, i'll update the webpage for Cheyenne and add some documentation for RSP. |
Maarten 26-May-2007 [523] | Thanks :-) |
btiffin 26-May-2007 [524] | This is pretty cool news. If you find an extra second or two, a "Powered by the awesome Cheyenne" graphic would be nice. Thanks Doc. |
Dockimbel 26-May-2007 [525] | I'd like to have one also, it's added in the todo list. |
btiffin 26-May-2007 [526] | No rush...code is better use of time of course. This is all just promotional... :) I should have added my smiley the first time. Cheerleading...I'll have to learn some way of not making it distracting to the key players. :) Go Doc Go! |
Volker 26-May-2007 [527] | Graphics - a target with a lot of arrows in the bullseye? Cheyennes where good at that?^^ |
BrianH 26-May-2007 [528] | A single arrow in flight. |
Graham 26-May-2007 [529x2] | ahh... working sessions .. sweet |
pioneer with arrow in back?
BrianH 26-May-2007 [531] | Funny as that would be, let's try to stay positive... |
Graham 26-May-2007 [532] | bwaaaahh |
BrianH 26-May-2007 [533] | :P |
Graham 26-May-2007 [534x2] | the idea being conveyed is how a simpler technology ( arrow) can be more nimble in some situations than a more advanced technology ( guns ) |
So, we construct an ideogram around that.
BrianH 26-May-2007 [536] | An arrow shot into a gun barrel, like you see in Green Arrow comics all the time? |
Graham 26-May-2007 [537x2] | How about a tent ... lightweight website home |
easily stylized and non violent
BrianH 26-May-2007 [539] | Whatever tent style the Cheyenne used... |
Dockimbel 26-May-2007 [540x2] | Thank you guys for your interesting propositions ;-) |
Brian, don't worry, I won't spend much time on that. Btw, thanks for the cheerleading !
Graham 26-May-2007 [542x3] | I think a tent is pretty close to ideal ... |
Although other nomadic cultures used tents, they are mostly associated with the Indian nations
It's portable and easily setup .. a feature of Cheyenne
Dockimbel 26-May-2007 [545] | Looks like it fits well the concept. |
Graham 26-May-2007 [546] | and like most websites ..it's a home under construction :) |
btiffin 26-May-2007 [547] | I don't know, but a "powered by" integrated over the current Cheyenne logo would be fine by me...well that, and a transparent background. |
Terry 26-May-2007 [548] | powered by a tent |
BrianH 26-May-2007 [549] | Hosted in a tent. Good point though. |
Volker 26-May-2007 [550] | Linux is like a wigwam?^^ |
Graham 27-May-2007 [551] | This weekend is nearly finished for me ... any chance of Cheyenne being released soon? |
Dockimbel 27-May-2007 [552] | It's early sunday here, I've just woke up, I need the whole day to finish the doc and make the release. |
Graham 27-May-2007 [553x2] | Ok. |
Don't spend too much time on the logo :)
Dockimbel 27-May-2007 [555x2] | ;-) |
I have to delay the Cheyenne release by one day due to numerous issues today while running it on Linux. Among these issue are rebol crashing bugs on linux (like mold/all/flat, listed on RAMBO).
Henrik 27-May-2007 [557] | if you don't use flat, it doesn't crash. pretty simple. (I was the reporter) |
