Froogle

 [1/3] from: carl::cybercraft::co::nz at: 24-Dec-2003 22:19

Froogle ( http://froogle.google.com/ ) is the new product finder from Google, and out of curosity I told it to search for REBOL. This turned up mostly books, with the only one I didn't know of being "XML Processing with Perl, Python, and PHP". (The REBOL hit being because The last part of the book offers a chapter each on four other scripting languages: REBOL, Ruby, Tcl, and AppleScript. ) View or Command didn't seem to turn up when searching just for REBOL , but did if the search was for "REBOL View" or "REBOL Command". "REBOL IOS" wasn't found though. (Well, except for A mention with an OS-News t-shirt.) Froogle I suspect is going to change how people buy stuff from the Net, so making your products Froogle-friendly, (so price, picture and products match), is a new art that may need to be learnt. -- Carl Read

Good pointer! To get into Froogle for sure, you need to provide them with a "data feed" -- basically a CSV file (not even XML!) with details of your products. The last I remember, they were only accepting US-based organizations (so prices in USD), but that may have changed. More info at: http://froogle.google.com/froogle/merchants.html http://www.siteall.com/froogle/datafeed.pdf Sunanda.

According to the link below, that's still the case, though it only applies to data-feeds. Search for "Watties" for instance, to see Australasian sites listed. I can also put NZ sites on the first page by including a "co.nz". For example" "co.nz palm pda". Results are a bit generic though, and prices may not match pictures or comments.
