I found out recently that the ".r" extension also is applied to Pegasus Mail Resource File's. Got that from this link which doesn't list it for REBOL scripts http://www.cknow.com/ckinfo/acronyms/fileextensions.htm Just some fun knowledge for yas. Paul Tretter

HI Guys, FYI .... the 4gl I use for work purposes called Progress uses .r as an extension for its "compiled" code. You can replace the file types entry in Windoze so that .r run Rebol instead :-) Cheers Phil ----- Original Message ----- From: "Paul Tretter" <[ptretter--norcom2000--com]> To: <[rebol-list--rebol--com]> Sent: Saturday, March 24, 2001 9:58 AM Subject: [REBOL] Other R extensions

Using filename extensions to represent filetypes to the OS is lame anyway IMO. Extension name clashes are inevitable - especially with the archaic 3-char convention. And these filename extensions are listed as if MS Windows is the only OS out there. Geez. It's not like extensions are registered like URLs or something; they really aren't much more than a free-form description. .R represents REBOL scripts on my machine. Oh wait, I'm preaching to the choir <turns around and starts over>. - Michael Jelinek Philip Bevan <[philb--upnaway--com]>@rebol.com on 03/23/2001 11:04:29 PM From: "Philip Bevan" <[philb--upnaway--com]>@rebol.com on 03/23/2001 11:04 PM Please respond to [rebol-list--rebol--com] Sent by: [rebol-bounce--rebol--com] To: <[rebol-list--rebol--com]> cc: Subject: [REBOL] Re: Other R extensions HI Guys, FYI .... the 4gl I use for work purposes called Progress uses .r as an extension for its "compiled" code.
